Welcome to the Mesa Arts Academy
Mesa Arts Academy is a free Charter School that integrates the Arts into a rigorous academic curriculum. A high quality alternative for kindergarten through eighth grade students, Mesa Arts Academy offers studies in Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, Drama, Dance, Music, Physical Education, Technology, and the Visual Arts.
The Mesa Arts Academy was established in 1995 as a solution to the severe overcrowding of the Mesa Public Schools. Originally, the Mesa School District and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley partnered together to provide this exciting educational solution to the needy students.
Mesa Arts Academy prides itself on providing a “positive school climate” for all of its students. Each student is treated with respect and the guidance that they need to discover and develop their individual talents. Students are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis regardless of race, creed, disability, or financial status.
The Mesa Arts Academy employs only Arizona Certified teachers for its academic program. Additionally, in every classroom an academic aide will be there to assist the students in their quest for knowledge.
Professionals in the fields of the arts and technology provide our students with real world experience in their classrooms.
The Academy shares the campus of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley's Grant Woods Branch. Homerooms are housed in five portable buildings. In addition, our students access the club building during the day for special classes. Special rooms include: two gymnasiums, dance room, multimedia computer lab, and an art studio.
